Just a short note.....from Colette:

Justin Jorgensen and Cameron Peterson will both be ordained deacons this month.

Rex Mitchell Family:

Michael and Linda will be together for Thanksgiving... well sort of. Michael will be on his air-craft carrier in the Persian Gulf and Linda will be on the air base in Qatar. Michael stopped in the capital of Maylasia on his way to the gulf, Linda stopped somewhere in Europe on her way to Qatar. Happy holidays!

Jessica and Geovanney are staying busy. Jessica manages the oral surgery office where she works and is expecting another grandchild in March. Geovanney helps his father run a labor contracting business with around 300 workers! Jessica sometimes helps with the payroll for the workers. Granddaughter Alicia is doing well in school and really enjoys her time there. Granddaughter Natalie is jealous that she doesn't get to go to school until next year, but does get to spend the school day alone with grandma!

Rex and Kitty really enjoyed the reunion this year and plan on going next year. Yes, we will be doing the Gurning Contest again for all of you fans and those that want a second shot at fame and fortune. Kitty has been doing preschool with Natty and has finally got her doing her ABC's and numbers, Natty is a bit stubborn about doing this kind of thing... maybe her lefthandedness makes her think differently. Rex has been busy working in unemployment with the State of Oregon and with his furniture/walking sticks/wood carving.

Elaine Mace gave the following two (2) articles about Kim to Clenn for the family paper:

KIM CLARE TALBOT was born 27 January – 1954 at 7:20 A.M. at the Preston Memorial hospital in Preston, Franklin County, Idaho.  He was welcomed into the world by his parents, Denzil G. and Clarissa Housley Talbot, and six brothers and five sisters – He being the twelfth child and seventh son in the family.  He weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces, and was 19 ½ inches tall.  He had bluish-gray eyes and red hair.  He was brought home from the hospital on a very foggy evening.  The family was all happy and thrilled with his arrival.

As time went on instead of creeping he traveled on his seat and pulled himself along by working his legs.  He began walking in February just after he was a year old.

He loved his parents and brothers and sisters very much.  He enjoyed being with them to herd cows or wherever and whenever it was possible for them to take him with them.  He liked machinery.  He called the John Deere tractor the “PUT—PUT”.  He played on it and at night he would often look out the window and say, “Is PUT—PUT here, Is car here, is trailer here” – before he would go to bed.

He romped with his Dad and played horse with his brothers.  They would get on their hands and knees and he would ride them.

He wrote letters to his brother Clenn who was in the Army.  When we asked him what he was writing he would always say “i-e-“.

He loved to go to church.  He would say, “Me go church”.  He sat with me in opening exercises of Sunday school and then would run to his class.

He called Alden “Anno”.  When Alden was away working he would say, “Go up to ranch and get Anno”.  He slept with Alden and they were real buddies.

When Aleda was in Salt Lake he would say,  “Go meet bus and get my ‘Eddie’.”

Kim passed away suddenly June 27 – 1957 at home in Lewiston, Cache County, Utah.  His funeral was held in the Lewiston First ward July 3rd, and was buried in the Lewiston cemetery.

I, his mother wrote this soon after Kim’s death.  Many fond memories linger with me and his family.

                        KIM

Kim ‘thou’ way up there
In the Lords protecting care.
Can thou hear of humble prayer
We’re left here with only sadness to share.

Thou honest and faithful love
Is all we have to give us a gentle shove.
We think of you as a nice glove
Leaving us a light fit of thy love.

With your parents lovely care
We know you done no earthly wrong.
If we can live to also be there
For that is where we will belong.

You left us, no matter how close we were,
Like you didn’t know.
For you left without a stere
You didn’t even tie your family bow.

(I, Mother, found this in Alden’s
Bedroom awhile after Kim passed away
I am sure Alden composed and wrote this)

Seniors – here is your future Medicare bill:

The, per person Medicare insurance premium will increase from the present monthly fee of $96.40, rising to: $104.20 in 2012; to $120.20 in 2013; and $247.00 in 2014.  These are provisions incorporated in the Obama care legislation, purposely delayed so as not to 'confuse' the 2012 re-election campaigns. Give this to all seniors that you know, so they will know who's throwing them under the bus.

REMEMBER THIS IN NOVEMBER 2012 & VOTE ACCORDINGLY

ArLene M. Johnson Reports:

Hello all! The family reunion was great; it was so good to see everyone. My family looks forward to that every year, we always have fun.
Dale changed jobs. He still works for the Veteran's Affairs, but not the Hospital anymore. He is now an Information Technology Specialist at the Field Office in Salt Lake City. It is right next door to the VA Hospital. His second week on the job he went to Florida for a week for training. He still is kind of unsure of what he is doing, but he will learn quickly.
I had knee surgery on August 30th and had a few complications, but I am on the mend. Being second counselor is primary is keeping me busy, but our primary program is now over, so hopefully stuff will slow down.
Matthew ran in the Lewiston 5K on the 4th of July and came in 2nd in his age group. He is getting back in to running. He ran the Peach Days 10K in Brigham City and came in 20th overall. He is enjoying going to Weber State University and is doing really good in college. He no longer works as a lifeguard, he now works for a local internet company installing internet. He is first assistant in the Priest quorum. He drives to Logan frequently to visit his girlfriend that goes to Utah State, he knows the road well.
Nathan just started his junior year at Roy High School. He is involved in a lot of clubs; I can't even keep them all straight. He is on the swim team again, so he spends a portion of his day in the pool. He is getting in to the dating scene and went to the Homecoming Dance with a sweet girl, and had fun. He ran in the Lewiston July 4th one mile race and came in 3rd overall, and first in his age group. He is looking forward to Lagoon closing for the season at the end of the month. He is second assistant in the Priest Quorum. He and Matthew bless the sacrament together almost every week. It is a great feeling to see them up there fulfilling their Priesthood duties.
That is it from us, once again we're boring, but boring is good. Don't forget to pray!

From Roy & Leat Esplin:

On September 27, 2011 Leat had the right side of her thyroid out and her goiter (now my socks won’t stay up) Ha Ha.  Leat had to stay in the hospital overnight.

Thanks family – DelRa & Wood E for the good blessing you gave me before I went to the hospital. And, thanks to all the family for the visits, phone calls, flowers, cards, food and for everything you have done for us.  We love and appreciate you – our family.
I’m now doing real good!

P.S.

Just as I come back to my room after surgery there was two deer that walked by the window!
Alden and Charlene Talbot News:

Our family has truly been blessed once again.  This year started with us wearing our running shoes and we haven’t been able to take them off yet.  Isaac, Kate’s husband, had back surgery in May.  He is doing much better now.   Kate is teaching third grade this year.  She is really enjoying it.  Claira is attending Weber State University’s Pre-school and is loving it.  Sydnee is just learning daily new and amazing things.  She will be one in November.   Isaac is Ward Mission Leader and Kate is in the Primary Presidency.  Timby came home off of his mission August 5th and went right back to work and school at Weber State University.  Emily became engaged to Shawn Fowers on her birthday, August 18th.  She is also working on her masters at Weber State University, and is substituting practically daily.  Shawn is working on his master’s at Utah State and is also teaching there. He is majoring in Math Education.  They plan to marry in December.  Timby gave Ada Robinson a diamond and is also planning to marry in December. They knew each other before his mission.  Ada has a year left at BYU.  She holds the BYU record in the women’s high jump.  She is majoring in Landscape Architect.   We couldn’t be more pleased with the selection that our children have made with their choice of mates. Alden was made 1st councilor in the Manor Branch (Special Need Branch) Presidency.  Timby and Emily go to the 18 Ward—the singles ward for our stake.  Emily is Relief Society President and Timby is a Ward Missionary.  Their Church block is 9:00 a.m. to Noon.  Timby misses his ward most of the time as he still gets many calls to speak with the High Council.  Alden’s regular block starts at 10:00 with Sacrament Meeting first.  Charlene is still in the Primary and her block starts at 12:30.  Alden sometimes gets through in time to make it to Sacrament Meeting with Charlene at 2:20.  Charlene just tries to coordinate the flow chart as to who goes where and when.  We have taken a couple of weekend trips to Bear Lake and thoroughly enjoyed being together as a family.
